Skilled Artist And Intuitive Teacher

Mukund Dev was one of the first people my partner and I met when we came to the Gurukul in Bhopal where he has been a dedicated student for many years. Mukund was immediately warm, friendly and very helpful to us newcomers. In a spontaneous introduction to the art of Dhrupad, he sang for us, including his own poetic composition. We both found it beautiful and profound and felt we had witnessed something special.Mukund is a generous teacher who shares deep knowledge, devotion and experience. He gives clear instructions and encourages one to sharpen one’s focus, work hard and “get it”. In just one lesson he covered how to improve voice quality, nada yoga philosophy, vocal exercises, Taal (rhythmic patterns), bandesh (composition), personal anecdotes and answered any questions that arose. I left feeling uplifted and inspired. I am grateful to be receiving teachings by this talented young man who comes from such a revered lineage . Thanks a million Mukund!
